Update: 11 July 2026
Trying to keep it cool with a busy summer ahead!
On Saturday 18 July, we are running a stall at Canons Summer Fair in Mitcham from 11 am to 1 pm. We will be block-printing lengths of calico that will be made into colourful bunting for use at celebrations and events at Canons. It would be lovely to see you. While we will retain the lengths of calico, visitors are free to take practice pieces home with them.
On Tuesday 11 August, we are running a block-print workshop from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm at Sherwood Park in Mitcham for Library in the Park. The workshop is free, but you need to reserve a place here.
On Saturday 22 August, textile artworks we have made with different communities for The Merton Story will be on display in Morden Library for Merton Heritage Discovery Day, which runs from 11 am to 4 pm. Admission is free, and it's a great opportunity to find out more about the borough and its diverse and engaging history.
We are also delighted to be represented by two of our team in the current Crafting the Wandle exhibition on show at The Canons, Mitcham until 25 July 2026. Organised by Sustainable Merton, the Preloved Studio, Merton College and the team at The Canons, it really is a vibrant exhibition celebrating community creativity and the natural beauty of our borough. Go visit!
Finally, it was great to meet some of our followers at our recent exhibition at The Stableyard Gallery, Morden Hall Park. We really enjoyed sharing the community centred artworks we have made to date, and providing another opportunity to get the hammers out for a free hapa zome workshop! The image on the left is the collective artwork made during that session. Further images and an overview of the exhibition will be uploaded to the website soon.
